6/24/2015 0 Comments OptimisticWe all need a serious wake up call. First off, I know that a lot of Americans are extremely political. They have their view points, and some are extremely black and white in their thinking ... no gray area. I guess as I get older my opinion is getting stronger in the world views, but I wouldn't classify myself as a political monger. Actually, I get confused hearing the debates. Why does it seem like some of these issues have a simple solution blinking in our faces? Does everyone really not want the same thing? Wake up!! The amount of money and power one has really means nothing. Yea, yea money would be helpful to be able to pay for the things we want. But the flashy things that people flaunt when they have money, is it really advancing them anywhere? WE ALL DIE. Nothing makes us a better person than... just being a better person. Greed has consumed everyone. I could go on and on about how media makes people want and want and then the lower paid families feel incomplete. Then the kids feel insecure leading to theft and violence. There is a serious crack in our society. So many factors need to be fixed before we can even think about building again. The rich feel entitled, the poor feel like they should be entitled, families have no structure, moms and dads have to work because they feel they need more money and bigger and better things, kids are left alone and misbehave and then they have no consequences for their actions. It's a mess, but so much of it is stems back to that all mighty dollar. I feel like the world is blind to actual problems. They want to put a band aid over it instead of getting to the root of the problem. Take the gun control issue. Yes super controversy subject, and to be perfectly honest ... I Like guns. I grew up with them; hunting and shooting for practice, but we were taught to respect them. I have guns. I haven't shot anyone. Weird, I thought guns killed people. No more band aids! Lets get help for our mentally ill. Let's actually have prisons that aren't day spa camps. Maybe a spanking a few times a day will keep the kids in order, and maybe quit worrying about getting that new sports car or trying to keep up with the Jones' and let a parent be home to actually raise and chaperone their own children. It needs to be done now. We need to be scrambling, because things are only going to get worse. I would like to think I can remain optimistic. RJ Heaton

6/22/2015 0 Comments Don't hate meI know so many of my fans are waiting patiently for the saga of Ronin Hollister and Treva Stone to continue in "Broken Again" ... especially with so many things left in the air. I swear I am working as fast as my creative mind will work. I am still shooting for a September release-fingers crossed. I don't want everyone to be upset, but I am going to throw another couple in the swing of things. It's a short novella for a quick fun romance read. Right now I am toying with the title, "Stepping over". Dang authors getting distracted ... I am really super excited to introduce Nikki Cooper into the world though, and I promise you, you won't be disappointed. I will be doing a cover reveal next month, so you'll have to keep your eyes on the look out. If all goes well, it should be released in August. Yes I know... it's before book two of the Fate Intertwined series, but when the inspiration comes, it just comes. Right now the imagination juices are just flowing! I will have more details soon. For now, I hope that everyone is enjoying their summer. RJ Heaton

It was short, but very refreshing. We started our short road trip by slowly meandering to Portland, Oregon Friday night. In the morning we got up and spent a few hours at the Saturday Market ... it was a blast. Holy crap there are some truly talented people out there. Skimming over the booths made me envious. Damn, I wish I was that creative. After trying a few of the delicacies, we left for the coast. The drive was beyond superb; greenery curtaining the winding road, and just letting little peeks of the ocean to tease us with a glimpse. Breathtaking. We made sure to stop at a few beach points just long enough to get our toes wet and shoes loaded with sand ( oh and a few sea shells of course). Everything seems to disappear when you stare out at the vast water. You forget about your day jobs, or the day-to-day life struggles. It just ... wipes it all clear. It's my opinion we all need to get away every weekend. It puts us in reset mode. Gets us back to nature and the big picture. I have decided ... I am definitely not one of those people who can't wait to get home. I'm that one scheming my next trip before we even start heading back. Maybe soon, I will be hitting the road and sharing my experiences ... daily. Hey, one can dream. Until then... get out and play. RJ Heaton
