Just a sparkle in my eye

I tried to post yesterday, but me and my technology were not seeing eye to eye. Of course, technology won. My apologies for being late.
If you could see me right now, you would see me rubbing my hands together with a scheming, glistening-sparkle in my hazel eyes.
I asked you in my last blog to write down in detail what it means for you to write. I wanted you to get specific! How did that go? Did you get any personal clarity for your reasoning behind that desire of yours to write?
For me, the number one reason I write is, because I love telling a good story, and I want to bring entertainment for those who enjoy reading a good story. The idea of readers holding on to my books and cracking up over a character and something they did or said, or crying during a sad scenario that hit them out of the blue--is priceless to me. I want to take readers on a journey to places they have never been before.
    Confession time.
The hidden secret for my drive to write stories ... Ultimately, I want to have acres of land with my very own homestead with cows, chickens, goats or whatever else kind of animals, a huge garden, and all the time in the world to hide somewhere in my oasis to write as freely as I want. My very own paradise. My eyes are hazed over with the mirage as I sit in my living-room as we speak. Oh yes ... book tours, traveling, more things visited, more things to write about!
Dreams are just plans you haven't started yet. You're the only one that can make those dreams come true.

Who's ready to write?

Yes, I know it's not Thursday, however, I am stuck at home on yet another snow-day, and I figured I should utilize my time wisely.
In my last blog I mentioned that I would like to share ideas for writing (if writing a story or book has been a life long passion or dream of yours that is). So, let's get down to it.
FYI: If you're wanting in-depth details I recommend going on to Amazon and grabbing yourself a copy of: Build, Write, Launch at https://tinyurl.com/buildwritelaunch
To get started I will give you some brief pointers to light that spark and hopefully get you writing. First step, I want you to grab a piece of paper and really contemplate why your little heart desires writing a book. What is it for you?
  • Are you wanting to write a book to build a reputation for yourself or your business?
  • Credibility?
  • Money and leads to more connections?
  • Growing a network?
  • Or is there something dear to your heart that passion is driving you to write?
  • Are you wanting to write a book in a specific field to validate that you're an expert in that certain field?
  • Do you simply just have a story you need to tell?
In my book I urge not to make money your number one priority for writing a book. Focus on writing the book and what you are trying to offer with your book and then the money will come.
Back to that piece of paper you grabbed.
I want you to take 20 minutes and write about the reasons you want to write a book. Really contemplate that reason and don't lie to yourself. You're not being tested on this, but in the long run having an honest and clear picture will give you clarity and direction on where you are going with your words.
If you are really serious about writing, I urge you to get my new book Build, Write, Launch and use all of the resources around you. Writing has a glorious aura around it, but actually sitting down, writing all the words and then the what's and how's after and in-between can be daunting. You're not alone!
Once you have discovered your purpose to writing a book, the next step is figuring out what you're going to be writing about.
Stay tuned for more tips. Next time we will discuss characters and how to figure out their self-concept.
Thanks for reading!

Practice what I preach

I read a post that, "the New Year rush of freshly determined gym goers" has begun plummeting and the month isn't even over yet.
I am sick and tired of being a statistic. The new year stimulates a boost of beginnings and changes. This year I didn't want to delusion myself with new year resolutions that would surely fail. This year I just simply wanted to a add a few changes in my week (Oh and of course lose 40 pounds).
No really ... those pounds do need to come off, but I am determined to stop acting like such a recluse and try to reach out to the public on a regular basis. I intend to blog at least once a month. Every third Thursday of each month I will post with the intention to help new authors with story ideas and pointers from my book; Build, Write, Launch and to keep my readers informed on what I am working on.
In my book, I talk about time management and how to get your book written by utilizing time properly.
I need to follow my own advice and tighten down the buckle. I want to be the perfect example for those of you out there that have real life struggles. All of us have our obstacles, but we can jump those hurdles. I promise.
I am a wife, a mother of 7, a grandmother of soon-to-be 8. At the moment I am the main provider of 5 of us while my husband continues his education. I cut hair but I am so over it! My ultimate dream is to quit my full time job and write nonstop. For the moment this is my life and it is far from glamorous.
I have to mention too, we just brought this cutie pie home ... because I don't have enough going on.
Picture
We don't have to fall off the band wagon! We can hit it strong AND end strong.
Next Thursday I will post a kick off with tips and teasers from Build, Write. Launch. These simple tips can help you stay on the right track for writing and getting published.

If all goes well

Everyone keep your fingers crossed. I am hoping all goes smooth and the release of What Brings Tomorrow book 3 ... the final chapters of tragedy, love, hate and the betrayal of Nikki Cooper's life will release in September 2017.

I am sorry if it has seemed that I have been sucked from the planet Earth. It has been a long and grueling year with personal turmoils, but please don't fret. I am letting gravity pull me back down and the writing will commence.

Not only will Nikki's story conclude this year, but I am working on Ronin and Treva's final story along with a few stories jumping from the romance train and skipping into something altogether new. I am hoping that my new stories will enthrall all of my readers and draw many more.

I Will keep all of you posted on release dates and what I am working on.

Thank you for joining me and all of my characters I bring to life on pages. Without you turning the pages their lives stay stagnant. Bring them to LIFE!!

Please help me out and lets get this book soaring to the top, and please REVIEW. Reviews; how can I put it, are super, super important to authors. We need those reviews. Please take literally five seconds after you're done reading and post a short review about my books. Please and thank you.

Tomorrow there will be a Facebook event( as posted on my home page). There will be games and lots of giveaways happening all day. We have a great line-up of authors all sharing their books. Come join us and enter the giveaways.

It's about time

I wish this would have come a few months ago, but finally the saga continues. Treva Stone and Ronin Hollister's story continues in the second book of a three part series in, Broken Again.
The new book will be released on July 1st. It will be available in paperback and on Kindle.  A forewarning, this book contains strong sexual content, and dark twisted characters, but a must read.
I will be releasing pre-order information as the time gets a little closer. Keep watching and reading for the details.
