Perseverance

We get up and play the motions we are accustom to. For most, it starts with getting the coffee pot brewing and then it may be the shower. Whatever our pattern is, usually there is a little hiccup. Maybe you spilled your coffee on your white dress shirt, or the shoelace broke when you were rushing out of the door. We yell, curse and move on. How about something more serious? A drunk driver plows into you while you are driving down the interstate. Now, you are left paralyzed from the waist down. Something this horrific takes a lot more time to just ... move on.

I'm bringing this up because listening to others' stories is eye opening. On Saturday May 23rd, my neighbor and friend threw a great birthday party for her husband. A few of the other neighbors helped pull this shindig together and we were having a great time. Fun, companionship who could ask for more? The kicker ... while we were all having fun one of our other neighbors was living another day in her nightmare. Her husband-boyfriend- whatever the hell he is, had too much to drink and got physical with her. He almost broke her wrists and then locked her in her place so she couldn't leave. We all heard about this little occurrence the next day, after the fact. I felt horrible that this poor woman was locked up and none of us were aware. I could rant and rave about how this piece of crap male should have never laid a hand on her, but that would literally take all day.
For what reason I have no idea, my neighbor lady has been out and about prancing around like nothing ever happened. Her jerk of a man still sharing a place with her.

My title of this blurb is perseverance.
We find our will to keep going no matter what comes our way. We're resilient and persistent forging ahead day by day. We all have an adversity we need to get through, over, or maybe under. If you need to grab someone's hand to help you - do it. Find your perseverance, but you don't have to be complacent
